Obituary of Lillian Roy

Suddenly at her residence in Windsor on Wednesday March 25, 2015, Lillian Marie (Standaert) Roy (King), age 87, of Windsor, beloved wife of the late Luke (King) Roy (1979). Born in Ostend, East Flanders, Belgium in 1927, daughter of the late Marguerite Boergan and Michel Standaert. She is survived by daughter Nancy Roy of Windsor and son-in-law John also of Windsor. Also survived by her family in Bruxelles, Brugge, Knokke, and Ghent, Belgium. Lillian was a R.N. in Chatham for many years and was fluent in 10 languages. She was able to help many people in her career and private life. Both Luke and Lillian were members of the Chatham Yacht Club. As were Lillian’s wishes there will be no visitation or service. A Private graveside burial took place in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Donations to the Windsor Hospice, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Lung Association, and the O.S.P.C.A. would be appreciated.
