Peacefully, at Copper Terrace Long Term Care Facility, Chatham, on Sunday, March 29, 2015, Maurice Houle, age 89, of Chatham, beloved husband of Bernice Houle (nee Gagnier). Born in Grande Pointe, son of the late Marguerite and Orville Houle.
He is survived by his children, Dennis (Mary Ann) Houle, Douglas (Donna) Houle, and Janice (Gary) Allin all of Chatham. Also survived by his grandchildren, Scott, Mark, Daylene, Jaymee, Jolene, Ed, Niki, Jess, Jake and 9 great grandchildren, and by his brother Roger Houle.
Predeceased by his sisters, Edmondine Cadotte, Geraldine Richer, Theresa Perry and by his brother Gerard Houle.
Maurice farmed in Harwich Township all his life and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #10436.
Friends and relatives may visit in casual attire at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 from 2 – 4 PM and 7 – 9 PM, where Vigil Prayers will be offered at 3:30 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 11 AM in St. Joseph’s Church. Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimers Society would be appreciated.
