Obituary of Loretta Trudell

Passed away at Riverview Gardens Nursing Home, Chatham, on Thursday, July 10, 2014 in her 95th year. Born in Chatham on November 22, 1918, daughter of the late Maude (Bourdeau) Trudell (1976) and Alphonse Trudell (1980). Surviving are her sisters; Florence Morand (Francis-2011) of Belle River, Rose-Marie Pepper (Donald-1987) and Francis Trudell and Nellie of Pain Court. She is predeceased by her sisters; Evelyn Trudell (2006) of Windsor, Yvonne (Trudell) Belanger (1960) and late husband Roland (2006) of Pain Court, Sr. Marguerite Trudell (2012) from SJC order in London and her brother; Bernard Trudell (2009) and his wife Jean Trudell of Pain Court. She is survived by several special nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Loretta attended the former St. Mary’s Academy in Windsor then moved on to Ottawa for 2 years in order to receive her teaching diploma. She later taught school in St. Joachim and in Windsor. She later went on to Business College in Chatham. She worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chatham then moved on to Windsor, and then to Detroit, MI in 1953 where she remained until she retired on Riverview Drive in Windsor in 1980. In 2007, due to health reasons, she moved back to Chatham and resided at Riverview Gardens Nursing Home. Loretta will be remembered as an excellent seamstress in which she took much pride in her work. She made the majority of her clothes as well as taking on kntting and crocheting. She not only sewed for herself, but she made several clothes for her little sister and her nieces and nephews. It was a labour of love for her to help clothe those in need. Friends and relatives may visit at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Sunday, July 13, 2014 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM, where Vigil Prayers will be offered at 3 PM. Visitation will take place in Immaculée Conception Church, Pain Court on Monday, July 14, 2014 from 10 AM until the time of Funeral Mass at 11 AM. Cremation to follow with burial of ashes in Immaculée Conception Cemetery at a later date. Donations to CKHA-Palliative Care, Project Our Church or the Charity of One’s Choice would be greatly appreciated.
