At Copper Terrace Long Term Care Facility, Chatham, on Friday, July 11, 2014. Geraldine “Gerry” Whittington, age 95, of Chatham, beloved wife of the late Erkwood “Ed” Thompson (1985) and the late Louie “Melvin” Whittington (1993). Born in Chatham on March 16, 1919, daughter of the late Victoria Schram and Andrew Legue. Loving mother of Edwin (Darlene) Thompson. Dearest grandmother of Daryll (Sue) Thompson and Jamie, Tracy (Mike) Boulley and great grandmother of Kaylee and Cody Boulley. Also survived by her brother-in-law Fred Atkinson and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother; Edwin Legue and sisters; Ethel Jones, Gladys Sterling, Margaret Jones, Evelyn Homewood and Mary Atkinson. Geraldine was a member of St. Joseph’s C.W.L. for over 70 years, the Maple City Centre for Older Adults, Kent Seniors Golf Club, Blenheim Golf Club and the Kent Senior Card Club. A special thank-you to the Staff at Copper Terrace for their excellent care and well being. Friends and relatives may visit at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Monday, July 14, 2014 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM, where Vigil Prayers will be offered at 3 PM. As per the family’s wishes a Private Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Due to allergies, in lieu of flowers donations to the Charity of One’s Choice would be appreciated.
