Peacefully surrounded by family at Riverview Gardens in Chatham, Wednesday, January 11, 2017, Charles Douglas “Chuck” Minshull, age 82, passed after a decade battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Beloved husband of Susan (Konigers-Shaw) Minshull and the late Joanne (Morrison) Minshull (1994). Born in Toronto and raised in St. Catharine’s, son of the late Muriel (Andrews) and George Minshull. Loving father of Dale Labadie (Sherry), the late Barry Minshull (Joanne) and Tammy-Lyn Minshull Cadotte (David). Cherished grandfather of Doug, Emily, Bradley and David. Dear brother of Gary Minshull (Lynn) and Linda Barber (Chuck). Also sadly missed by Susan’s children Chris (Annie), Nikki (Mark) and Casey (Lee-Anne) and their children, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. From 1970 until his retirement in 1997, Chuck worked for Daymond Aluminum where he played a lead role in organizing and forming the plant’s union (UAW/CAW) and was plant chairperson for many terms. He was a founding convention delegate of CAW Local 127. Chuck was also an avid supporter of various substance abuse programs where he sponsored and helped many people. Friends and relatives may visit at Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home on Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 11AM – 12PM , followed by a service at 12 noon by Rev. Margaret Moriyama; Celebration of Life Luncheon at St. Paul’s Congregational Church to follow. Cremation and burial ceremony with family to take place in the spring. Many thanks to the employees of Riverview Gardens for their devoted care. Donations to Alzheimer’s Society of Chatham-Kent appreciated.
