Peacefully, at Meadow Park Nursing Home, Chatham, on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, Elizabeth “Betty” Simpson, age 94, of Chatham, beloved wife of the late Kenneth Simpson (2004). Born in Chatham, daughter of the late Dorothy and Thomas Trudell.
She is survived by her children, Sandy (Gary) Shuian, Mary Lou (Andre) Dugas, and Becky (Paul) Bechard all of Chatham and a special daughter-in-law Carol Bloomfield of Port Rowan. Also survived by her grandchildren Tracy, Darin, Jennifer, Michael, Amanda, and Joseph, and her 14 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her son Allen, her grandson Jeffrey, and all her brothers and sisters. Betty was a member of the C.W.L. and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #28 for over 50 years.
Friends and relatives may visit at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Sunday, June 22, 2014 from 2 – 4 PM and 7 – 9 PM, where Vigil Prayers will be offered at 3 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 23, 2014 at 1 PM in St. Ursula’s Church. Friends and family are invited to arrive at St. Ursula’s Church at 12:30 PM for sharing of memories. Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
