Obituary of Fr. George Kadlec

At Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Chatham Campus, on Sunday June 1, 2014, Fr. George Juraj Kadlec, of Chatham at the age of 82 years. Born in Bratislava, Slovakia in 1931, son of the late Antonia Horka and Anton Kadlec.
Fr. George was Ordained in Rome on December 23, 1967 and served the Parish’s of Our Lady of Sorrows in Sarnia for 32 years and St. Anthony’s here in Chatham for 28 years.
He is predeceased by his only sister Vlasta Kadlecova in Slovakia.
Friends and relatives may visit at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Wednesday June 4, 2014 from 2- 4 and 7- 9 pm, where Vigil Prayers will be offered at 7 pm. Fr. George will lie in State at St. Joseph’s Church, 180 Wellington St. W., Chatham on Thursday June 5th from 9:30 am until the time of the Mass at 11 am.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday June 5, 2014 at 11 am in St. Joseph’s Church, Chatham.
Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Chatham. In lieu of flowers donations to Salesian Missionaries or Aid to the Church in Need, Canada Inc., would be appreciated.
