Avid Euchre player, long standing member of Blessed Sacrament Church and the Catholic Women’s League. Cherished by all and sadly missed. Elizabeth passed away peacefully on Tuesday in her 86th year in Chatham, born April 24 1929 in Plympton Twp, Lambton County to William Carey McCormick and Ethel McCormick-Leckie (nee Mills.) both deceased. Predeceased by husbands Frederick Francis McGrail in 1988 and William Martin Pare in 2012. Cherished mother of Patricia of Brampton, Mary Jean of Powell OH, Paul (Deb) of Chatham, William deceased (Dana) and Joseph of Windsor. Grandmother loved dearly by Erin (Derek), Tom (Nancy), Jamie, Nolan (Kathy), Jordan (Chris), Gary (Carmela), Kevin (Anne), Jaclyn, Klarisa, and Jillian (d). Great grandchildren Jessica, Trenton, Elizabeth, Emma, Sarah, Issabella, and Jennaca. Dear sister of Mildred (d) (James-d) Chalmers of Exeter; William (d) (Ann) McCormick of Pointe Edward, Winnifred June (d) (Tom) Clarke of Petrolia, Roy (Ruth) McCormick of Petrolia and Harold (Marlene) McCormick of Canberra, Australia. Step daughter of Laurie Leckie and step-sister of Doug and Ross Leckie (all deceased) of Sarnia. Sister-in-law of Mary (d) (Ron-d) Rollings; Laurene (d) (Herman -d) Dakoske of Detroit; James (d) (Mary) McGrail of Wallaceburg; John (d) (Catherine-d) McGrail; Helen (d) (Francis-d) ONeill of Wallaceburg; Kathleen (d) (Ed-d) Smith of Wallaceburg; Theresa (Doug -d) Mathany of Wallaceburg; Patrick (d) (Joanne) McGrail of Wallaceburg. Also survived by Pare step children Jim (Sue), Michelle, Richard (Audrey), Randy (Connie), John (d), Cheryl. Elizabeth will be dearly missed by a large loving family including several nieces and nephews and many close friends across both Canada and United States. Elizabeth was a member of the Chatham Curling Club, several Golf Clubs in Kent County, the Texas Shuffle Board Club, and a long standing member of the Catholic Women’s League in Chatham. She was also a member of both St Agnes and Blessed Sacrament Churches. Friends and relatives may visit at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Thursday May 15, 2014 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm where Vigil Prayers will be offered at 3 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday May 16, 2014 at 10 am in St. Agnes Church, 52 Croydon St., Chatham, ON N7L 1L3. Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or the William McGrail Memorial Scholarship Fund (University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus) would be appreciated.
