At the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Chatham Campus, on Sunday March 23, 2014, Genowefa Walczak, age 83, of Maple City Residence, Chatham, beloved wife of the late Leo Walczak (2000). Born in Augustow, Poland in 1930, daughter of the late Stefka Rowinska and Vincent Prawdzik.
Loving mother of Leon (Krystyna) Walczak of Chatham, Frank (Kelly) Walczak of Galena, Ohio, Susan (Kelvin) Halbauer of Chatham and Fran (Gary) Dwyer of Mallorytown. Cherished grandmother of Nicole, Stephen and Kasia. Dear sister of Janek Prawdzik of Poland. Predeceased by sisters; Mary Stuzik, Jane Bunko, Jadzia Pobojewski and by a brother Stan Prawdzik.
Friends and relatives may visit at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Tuesday March 25, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where Vigil Prayers will be offered at 8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday March 26, 2014 at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Victory Church.
Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Donations to the Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated.
