Obituary of Mary Bélanger

Peacefully surrounded by family at the Chatham-Kent Hospice, on Sunday March 19, 2017, Mary Patricia Bélanger, age 90, of Chatham, beloved wife of the late Raoul Bélanger (1979). Born in Ekford Township, Ontario in 1927, daughter of the late Barbara (McCrae) and James McDonnell. She is survived by her children; Paulette Demeter, Bernadette Bélanger, Louise (Gilles) Raymond, Michelle (Len) Larche and a daughter-in-law Carol Ann Bélanger. ‘Mémé’ will be sadly missed by 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Eileen Countryman, Jerry McDonnell, Phil (Mary-Jean) McDonnell, sister-in-law of Anne McDonnell. Predeceased by a son Paul Bélanger; sisters, Margaret (Peter) Semchysm and Irene (Jack) Tunstall; brothers, Tom and Dan McDonnell; a brother-in-law, Francis Countryman and a sister-in-law Anne McDonnell. Special thanks to Dr. Kate Bailey and to staff at the Chatham Retirement Resort and the Chatham Kent Hospice Foundation for their excellent care and support. Friends and relatives may visit at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Thursday March 23, 2017 from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM, where Vigil Prayers will be offered at 4 pm. A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Friday March 24, 2017 at 11:00 AM in Immaculée Conception Church, Pain Court. Visitation at the Church from 10 am until 11 am. Burial will take place in Immaculée Conception Cemetery. Donations to the Chatham Kent Hospice Foundation would be appreciated
