Peacefully, at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, on Saturday, October 29, 2016, Albert “Bert” Simmons, age 90, of Chatham, beloved husband of 67 years to Betty Simmons (Cook). Born in Chatham, son of the late Viola and Wesley Simmons, Bert was retired from Siemens since 1987.
He is survived by his children, Susan (Rob) Longley of Burlington, and Shelley (Mike) Deneau of Chatham, his grandchildren, Jason and Josh Deneau and Amy Longley, and 3 great grandchildren.
Bert was with the R.C.N.A. and a member of Legion Branch #628.
Friends and relatives may visit at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) from 7 – 9 pm on Tuesday, November 1, 2016.
Visitation will continue Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 10 – 11 am. A Legion Memorial Service will be held at 11 am followed by a funeral service in the chapel of the funeral home. Cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
