Obituary of Eloria Damphousse

Damphousse, Sister Eloria (formerly Sister Rosella) entered Eternal Life on Friday morning, May 20, 2016 at Villa Angela, Chatham, Ontario. She entered the Ursuline Sisters of Chatham in 1940. During those years she served as a teacher in McGregor, Windsor, St. Joseph and Tilbury. From 1970 to 1981 Sister Eloria was a religious consultant in Windsor. She also worked at the John XXIII Centre for many years as a French translator for the Diocese of London. She was born in Tilbury, Ontario in 1924, the daughter of the late Wilfred and Flora (Quenneville) Damphousse. Sister is survived by her sister Irene Gagnier of Windsor, brother Armand of Livonia, Michigan and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers Philippe, Victor, Marcel, and sisters Julia Levesque, Helena Beaudoin, and Alice Damphousse. Relatives and friends are invited to join the Ursuline Community at a prayer service to be held on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Kiva at Villa Angela, 20 Merici Way, Chatham. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Villa Angela, 20 Merici Way, Chatham. Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Donations in memory of Sister Eloria may be made to “Chatham Ursuline Charities” or to the charity of your choice.
