Peacefully surrounded by family at Riverview Gardens Nursing Home, Chatham, on Sunday September 24, 2017, Brenda Elaine Matteis, age 76, of Chatham, beloved wife of Anthony “Tony” Matteis. 

Born in Blenheim in 1941, daughter of the late Bertha (Wytinck) and Charles VanNeck.  Brenda was a member of the Catholic Women’s League and St. Ursula’s Church.

Loving mother of 4 sons; David (Nancy), Paul, Mark (Jennifer Knoll) and Steven (Allison).  Cherished grandmother of Victoria, Alessandra and Nicholas. Dear sister of Irene Stroobandt, Simone Rabideau and Leon VanNeck.

Friends and relatives may visit at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Tuesday September 26, 2017 from 2 - 4 and 7 – 9 pm, where Vigil Prayers and Catholic Women's League prayers will be offered at 3 pm.  

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday September 27, 2017 at 10:30 AM in St. Ursula's Church.  

Entombment will be in Maple Leaf Mausoleum.

Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated.
