Obituary of Jean Muriel Whittaker

Peacefully at Copper Terrace Long Term Care Facility, surrounded by family on Monday October 23, 2017, Jean Muriel Whittaker of Chatham at the age of 85 years.

Born in Dalhousie, New Brunswick in 1932, daughter of the late Vera (Simpson) and Herbert Travers. Jean is a retired Union Gas employee.  

Loving mother of Debbie (Blair) Hannam, Lynne (Terry) McDevitt, Jody (Dave) McCoppen and Kim (Bill) Harron. Cherished grandmother of Terri, Andrew, Aimee, Jennifer, Christy, Douglas, Christopher, Matthew and Lydia, also sadly missed by 9 great grandchildren and one on the way and by several nieces and newphews.

Predeceased by a sister Glennie Furey, a brother Buddy Travers, a grandson Timothy McDevitt and 2 nieces; Judy and Susan.   

Friends and relatives may visit at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) from 2 - 4 and 7 – 9 pm on Thursday October 26, 2017.  

Funeral Service will be conducted in Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home Chapel on Friday October 27, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Gabriella Cutler of St. Andrews United Church officiating.  

Burial of ashes will follow in Maple Leaf Cemetery.

Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or P.A.W.R. would be appreciated by the family.
