Thinking of Bobby on his birthday. No one I have ever met was as enthusiastic about inspiring creativity in others as Bobby was. A rare talent. Miss you and will never forget you. <3

I met Bobby when I was 14-years old. We were trained at the famous LaGuardia High School of Music and Art together. We have argued and discussed points about art, film and books for years and years. We lost touch after high school, but I was so glad to have reunited with him online at FaceBook. One thing I didn't realize was that Bobby and I communicated almost EVERY day on FaceBook. We'd sometimes message one another in the wee hours of the morning - sharing advice about art programs, movies and giving opinions on whether the eyeslits on Batman's cowl should be glowing white or dark (he liked them glowing.)
I will miss him and I regret we didn't get a chance to see one another again in this life. I look forward to seeing him in the the afterlife. I love you, Bobby!

Missing you, Bobby. I thought we had some time, but I delayed and found that we had not. I miss your humor, your insults and your stories. My world is a bit less today than yesterday.
I love you, Bobby.

To Diane and Jon, all of Bobby's extended family both northern and southern , and all those friends who are attending the Ceremony:
I knew Bobby for over 20 years and counted myself as his close friend. Though I am not there in person I want you to know that here in New York, several of us will gather and honor his memory Monday evening. Beyond the sadness of the day and the preceding week, we must move on and remember with joy the fact that Bobby was and will always be a part of our lives. His grace, good humor, helpful nature and creative passion were just some of his characteristics I will forever recall with warmth and love. It is always too soon to lose a friend like him...
With deepest Sympathy,
James B.

Gonna miss you, Bobby. You introduced me to Tony Roma, beef patties, and great New York flicks & museums. You were also my 2nd friend request on Facebook and got me hooked on it. How can you thank a guy enough for those memories? Life will never be as fun without you. Rest in peace.

In memory of my friend Bobby, I light this candle.
We met on the forums of the Online PC game City of Heroes. We were both very interested in art and learning all about it. I enjoyed every single conversation I had with Bobby. He was one of the most funniest, honest and generous guys I knew. Talented in so many things.
Even though we never actually met, he became a dear friend.
My heart goes out to Diane and Jon and all the family and friends Bobby had.

For many of us who knew Bobby via wetcanvas.com and Facebook (although I did actually meet him once and he made me a lovely watercolor portrait), his loss is a very difficult one, as well as for Diane and his family. He was a very giving artist, an inspired cook, and a dear man. I will miss you, Bobby - RIP

Everyone who knew Bobby loved Bobby! I met him in HS at Music & Art. My last name at the time was Alvarado and so he sat behind me in homeroom. He quickly became a sweet and good friend and even though many years have gone by the loss is still quite sad.
Diane and Family, please know that you are in my prayers as you grieve the loss of Bobby. God bless you and give you strength.

JJ and I want to offer you, Diane and family, our most sincere condolences. Such a hard slice of life to see a beloved one embark on the final journey. Nothing compares to it. We wish you peace and serenity, even if at times it will seem like the void created by Bobby's departure will never be filled. One day, that abyss will become engorged with all the beautiful memories of him.

Our sincerest condolences on the loss of a dear, sweet soul. He had heart, depth, creativity and love to share with all who knew him. The world is a bit darker because of his departure. May his memory live on through those who knew him.
With Love;
Henry, Elvira, Jack and Frodo

"Stay golden, Ponyboy" That was the first thing I told him when he broke the news of his cancer to me. And golden he stayed throughout his battle til the very end.
