Obituary of George Oscer Lernout
Peacefully, at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, George Oscer Lernout, age 64, of Chatham, much loved spouse (41 years) of Rose Ann (Lievens) Lernout. Born in Chatham, beloved son Vera Lernout-Couture and the late Leonard Lernout (1990).
Proud father of Debra Lernout-Banks, Matthew (Morgana) Lernout, Holly Lernout and Bradley Lernout. Anticipated Grand father of Contessa (June 2018). Brother of Patricia (Leo) Verhart, James (Rita) Lernout, Laurie (Marcel) Lassaline, brother-in-law of Margaret and James Carter, Julianna and Robert Jubenville, Irene and Henry Stepniak, Georgina and Ron Swackhammer, Florence and Paul Huszka, Maria and Roger Lycke.
Missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.
George was a graduate of the University of Waterloo, and held a degree in Electrical Engineering.
Predeceased by his mother and father in law George and Madeline (Allemeersch) Lievens, and his stepfather Charlie Couture.
Friends and relatives may visit at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm, where Vigil Prayers will be offered at 3 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 10 am in St. Agnes Church.
Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery.
Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Cancer Society and C.K. Hospice Foundation would be appreciated.
