Obituary of Maria DeFeo

With family by her side Maria passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Chatham Campus, on Saturday April 7, 2018, Maria DeFeo, age 81, of Chatham, beloved wife of the late Vittorio DeFeo (1999).  

Born in Castelvetere Sul Calore, Italy in 1936, daughter of the late Giovanna (D'Agostino) and Michelangelo Bimonte.  

She is survived by daughter Giovanna "Joanna" Ferrara and a son Carmine and daughter-in-law Anna DeFeo. Cherished Nonna of Felicia, Alexandra, Jennifer (DeeJay), Michael and by her great grandchildren Jaydon, Jiovanni and Jorjia.

Dear sister-in-law of Antonietta (Mario) DeVito of Chatham and their families, also by a brother-in-law and sisters-in-law and all their families in Italy and many nieces and nephews here and in Italy. Predeceased by brothers Daniele, Genesio, and Salvatore Bimonte all in Italy.

She is fondly remembered for being a loving and compassionate woman who was loved by everyone around her. She worked hard to take care of everyone she encountered and had incredible strength right until the very end.

Friends and relatives may visit at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Tuesday April 10, 2018 from 2 - 4 and 7 – 9 pm, where Vigil Prayers will be offered at 3 pm. 

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday April 11, 2018 at 10:00 AM in St. Ursula's Church.  

Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery. 

Donations to the Alzheimer's Society and the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
