Obituary of Gerard Clement Faubert
With support of his family, Gerard peacefully died at age 89 at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Wednesday May 9, 2018. Born in Pain Court, Dover Township on October 13, 1928. Will be dearly missed by his girlfriend Maryann Konecny, his son Marc Sr. and wife Christina Sumugat Faubert. Grandsons Marc Faubert Jr. and Edward Faubert. Granddaughter Nicole Fuchs (Shane) Thomson. Great Grandchildren Jayar, Aaron, Leah Faubert and Sophia Thomson. Also sadly missed by many cousins, nephews and nieces.
Gerard was the youngest son of the late parents Calixte Faubert and Alida Quenneville. Survived by his youngest sister Florence (late Cyril) VanBastelaar.
Predeceased by only daughter Monique Marie Faubert (2013). Predeceased by oldest sister Marianne Faubert (1917-1999) and brothers Origene Faubert (1918-2006), Alphonse (1922-2003) (Bernadine) Faubert, and Lionel Faubert (1926-2001).
Born to the farming community, started working at age 6 alongside his older brothers looking after the plowing Percherand team. Married to the late Carol Ann Alston (1997) on August 2, 1958 had Marc and Monique. Continued his life as a farmer and physically retired about 4 years ago but continued to mentor his family about farm operations. Favorite pastime was to watch documentaries on TV, reading and to visit Tim Horton’s coffee shop in town chatting with friends. Enjoyed lunch every Thursday with family and late friend Rosaire Myers (2016). Gerard was very excited to know and be a part of the International Plowing Match 2018 held beside his farm. Was an Honorary member of the Knights of Columbus. Was awarded Long Service Certificate by the Canadian Seed Grower’s Association as his participation in pedigreed seed production. Deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses and health care team who provided comfort in his life’s journey at Chatham-Kent health Alliance.
Friends and relatives may call Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home at 156 William St. S, Chatham (519-352-5120) on Sunday May 13, 2018 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. with Vigil Prayers at 3pm. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday May 14, 2018 at 10:00 in Immaculate Conception Church, Pain Court with interment to follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
