Obituary of Rosemary Catharine Zimmer

Peacefully at her current residence, Eden Villa, Chatham Ontario on Tuesday June 5, 2018, Rosemary Catharine Zimmer in her 90th year. Dear wife of the late Patrick Zimmer (2012).  Born in Chatham, she was the daughter of the late Alice (O'Rourke) and Hilary Ouellette.

She is survived by her children, Dan (Patricia) Zimmer, Susan (Brad) Lewis, Brian (Lori) Zimmer and daughter-in-law Debbie.  Loving Grandmother to Amelia, Daryl, Chad, Tyler and Kenzie and 4 great grandchildren. Sister of Jeanne Harding (2014)(dec. Jack), Winnifred Gillier (dec. Peter), Amelia Ouellette (dec. 1968), Mary Frances Kehoe (Lawrence), Elizabeth Kohel (Jerome), Julia Denys (George), and Tony Ouellette (Shirley).

Also sadly missed by a sister-in-law Mary (dec. Ray) Marchand and brother-in-law Charles Zimmer. Dear aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Rosemary was a Registered Nurse, Class of 1950, and worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chatham for many years. Rosemary was active in her parish community life at St. Joseph’s Church and the Catholic Women’s League (Harwich). She was also a member of the Pines Mother’s Club and the Women’s Institute.

Friends and relatives may visit at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Friday June 8, 2018 from 2 - 4 and 7 – 9 pm, where Vigil Prayers will be offered at 3 pm, Catholic Women’s League prayers will follow.  

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday June 9, 2018 at 9:30 AM in St. Joseph's Church.

Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery.
