Obituary of Andrew Leo Gaiswinkler
At Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday July 24, 2018, Andrew Leo Gaiswinkler, age 57, of Chatham, beloved husband of Kimberly (Keller) Gaiswinkler. Born in Leamington in 1960, loving son of Eugenie "Jenny" Gaiswinkler of Chatham and the late Leopold Gaiswinkler (2016).
Cherished father of Elyse Gaiswinkler, Lauren Gaiswinkler (Matthew Babcock) and Evan Gaiswinkler. Loved by his granddaughter, Eden. Pre-deceased in 2017 by his sweet grandson, Emmett. Dear brother of Monica Gaiswinkler Easton (R. Michael Easton). Loving son-in-law of Gail Keller. Cherished brother-in-law of Susan Kendziora and the late Victor Kendziora, and Tracy Mazerolle (Reene). Will be missed by nephews Kane and Dylan and niece Candace; and aunts, uncle and cousins in Austria.
Andrew attended St. Agnes Catholic School, John Uyen Catholic School and Tecumseh Secondary School. He married his high school sweetheart and they settled in Chatham while Andrew worked for the family business (Gaiswinkler Enterprises, Oil and Gas Management). While his family grew to five, he was an active member of the Chatham Jaycees, serving as President in 1994. After volunteering with the Chatham–Kent Police Service Auxiliary Unit, at the age of 39, Andrew joined the Chatham–Kent Police Service. He dedicated many years of his service to the traffic unit specializing as a collision reconstructionist.
Friends and relatives may visit at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S., Chatham (519–352–5120) on Friday July 27, 2018 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm where Vigil Prayers will be offered at 3 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday July 28, 2018 at 10:00 am in St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church (52 Croydon Street, Chatham).
Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery.
