(MINNETTE) ROMAYNE ROBERTS

Passed away on January 01, 2019 at 96 years old, surrounded by her family at Copper Terrace Long Term Care home. Beloved wife of the late Douglas Hamilton Roberts (1988). Daughter of the late John Hillman and Mary Louise Bâby. Romayne was born in Chatham where she lived all of her life. She attended St. Joseph's School and the Pines.

She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Church, the traditional choir, the Resurrection choir, and the City C.W.L.

Dear mother of Pamela Hinnegan and her husband Mike of Port Lambton along with their children Patrick (Barb) of Windsor, Jana Murphy (Dave) of Port Lambton, and Sean of Windsor; Dana Cook and her husband Bruce along with their children Darin (Jennifer) and Chad (Carrie) all of Chatham; Dianne Nicholls and her husband Rick along with their children Jeffrey (Leslie) of London, Kris (Rachel) of Hamilton, and Brooke (Steve) of Toronto; Deb (David Smith) along with her son Bryce Farrants (Karen) of London; Paul and wife Kathy of London along with their children Gillian (Tory) Prince George B.C. and Matthew of Toronto.

Romayne was known as “GG” to her 16 great grandchildren. Kyra and Shane Hinnegan of Windsor, Justin and Jamie Murphy of Port Lambton, Liam and Mallory Cook and Ethan and Jonah Cook all of Chatham, Calvin, Nathan and Samantha Nicholls of London, Brady, Lauren, Drew and Reid Farrants of London and Phoenix Nicholls of Hamilton.

Sister of the late Helyn Charlton (Max) of Kingston and William Hillman of Chatham. Sister-in-law to the late Margaret Blonde of  Windsor. Survived by her sister-in-law Kit Hillman of Chatham and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of the 3rd floor East of Copper Terrace for the wonderful care in their mom's final days and also Chatham Retirement Resort for the years spent there.

Friends and relatives may visit at Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Thursday January 3, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where Vigil Prayers will be offered at 2 pm.  

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday January 4, 2019 at 10 am St. Joseph’s Church.  

Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery.

Donations to Canadian Food for Children or St. Vincent de Paul Society (St. Joseph’s Chapter) would be appreciated.
