Obituary of Anteo Antonio Padovan

Peacefully, at Meadow Park Nursing Home, Chatham, on Tuesday, July 30, 2019, Anteo Antonio Padovan, age 91, of Chatham, beloved husband of Anna Padovan.

Born in Italy, son of the late Maria and Antonio Padovan.  He is survived by his son Bruno (Janet) Padovan of Chatham, his daughter Nerina Padovan of London, his 3 grandchildren, Renata Padovan (John Flancia), Mandy Padovan (Tim Del Greco), and Kris Padovan (Tabetha Caissie), and 2 great grandchildren Annabella and Arabelle.   

Also survived by his sister Lilliana and brother Antonio in Italy. 

Predeceased by 2 brothers in Italy.  

Anteo was a fisherman in Italy and came to Canada in 1960.  He worked in a factory until he started in construction work.  He continued to love fishing with his children and grandchildren, loved gardening and walking.  He also loved socializing, playing cards, and having visitors at home.  He was a great storyteller and jokester.  He was loved by everybody. 

Friends and relatives may visit at Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Thursday, August 1, 2019 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9pm, where Vigil Prayers will be offered at 3 pm.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 2, 2019 at 11 am in St. Agnes Church.  

Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery.

Donations to the Alzheimers Society of Chatham-Kent (Day Program at Memory Lane) or Meadow Park Nursing Home Chatham would be appreciated.
