Obituary of John Jean-Louis Trahan
John (Jean-Louis) Trahan died peacefully July 28, 2019 at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Pain Court, ON, in 1934, son of the late Victor (1975) and Marie-Anne (Gagner) Trahan (1997),
John worked in real estate in the Chatham-Kent region for most of his life, right up until his death. As a young man, he was a passionate baseball player. Throughout his adult life, he remained an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions: he simply loved the thrill of the game.
John was a respected member of his community and a dedicated husband. He could often be found driving far and wide to buy the freshest bread or the best in-season berries.
John will be sadly missed by his wife Jeanne (Pinsonneault) Trahan.
Brother to Victor, Sister Rose-Marie, and Pauline. Faithful step-father to David (Betty) and Ron. Dear father to Robert (Georgette) and Lisa Riopelle (Dave).
Beloved grandfather to Dan Clayton (Mickey), Jennifer Young (Tatum), Joshua Clayton (Carmen), Jordan Clayton (Greg Huk), Isla Trahan (Monty Balfour-Paul), Callum Trahan (Lynsey), Joshua Riopelle, Jerica Riopelle, and the late Jarrett Riopelle (2018)
Great grandfather to Mallory Clayton, Wesley Clayton, Audrey Clayton, Savannah Calhoun, Julia Clayton, Quinn Young, and Hudson Young.
As per his request, the family will be holding a private ceremony after his cremation.
Donations to the Cancer Society in his memory would be appreciated.
