Obituary of Joan (Rose Jeanne D'Arc) Dozois

Passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Meadow Park Nursing Home, Chatham, on Saturday September 21, 2019, Joan (Rose Jeanne D'Arc)  Dozois, age 93, of Chatham, beloved wife of 69 years to Maurice Dozois. 

Born in Chatham on July 26, 1926, daughter of the late Antoinette (Perron) and Leon Charlebois.  

Joan was a member of the Catholic Women’s League and often involved with the bake and penny sales. Joan worked for a local law firm as office manager and accountant. She also taught English to French farm workers and was a court interpreter for them.

Loving mother of Louise (Garry) Muckle, Charles (Susan) Dozois, Yvette (Reid) Hosie and Pat (Dawn Allott) Dozois. Sadly missed by 7 grandchildren, Trevor, Liza, Megan, Sam, Tyler, Dylan, Abby and Lauren and 1 great grandchild Cole. Dear sister of Simone (Andy) O’Neil. Predeceased by a sister Gilberte (dec. Phil) Grison, and brothers Jean Maurice (dec. Rosabel), Pierre Yvon Charlebois (dec. Patricia) and  Bernard (dec. Therese) Charlebois and brother-in-law Vincent (dec. Margaret) Dozois. Sister-in-law of Gerald, Lawrence and Louis (Marie) Dozois and Margarite Laroque.

Family and friends may visit at Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM on Wednesday September 25, 2019.  

A Funeral Service will then be conducted in the Chapel of the Funeral Home at 1:00 PM with Deacon Jerry Lozon officiating.  

Cremation will follow with interment of cremated remains at a later date.  

Donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Society would be appreciated.
