Peacefully, at Bluewater Health, Sarnia, with her children by her side on Tuesday, October 29th, 2019, Maria da Conceicao (Canhoto) Caetano passed away at the age of 75.

Beloved wife of the late Eduardo Ernesto Caetano (2010), loving mother of Glen (Susan) Caetano and Alzira Caetano (Jim Rose).  Adoring grandmother  to Noah, Raquel, Spencer, Gavin and Isaac.

She is predeceased by her parents, the late Candida and Francisco Canhoto, and four siblings.

Maria was born and raised in Portugal, she immigrated to Canada when she was 27 years old, living the majority of her life in Chatham, Ontario.  She assisted her father in the family shop at an early age in Portugal before moving to Canada where she then worked as a cook and eventually ran Queens Billiards, in Chatham, with her husband Eduardo.  Maria was a dedicated mother first and foremost.  She treasured her family and embraced every moment with them.  Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her.  Her love of children was well known by all who knew her.   Her faith was a very important part of her daily life.  She was a gentle, kind soul with a contagious smile.
