Obituary of Elisabeth Lutz
In loving memory of Elisabeth (Lisa) Lutz who passed away peacefully October 26, 2019. Loving wife to Stefan (Steve) Lutz for 63 years. Loving mother to Ralph, Caroline (Gavin) and Peter (Angela). Beloved sister of Joachim Machnik, Annemarie Buchen & Harry Machnik.
Lisa was born in Hindenburg, Germany January 25, 1937. She immigrated to Canada in 1953. She met Steve at a church picnic in Windsor, ON and they married in 1956.
Lisa was an excellent cook and baker, famous for her potato salad and birthday tortes. She would rather cook a family meal than go to a restaurant. Thanks to her we learned the importance of nutrition and home cooked meals. While everyone ate wonder bread & bologna, she made us eat weird food long before the health food craze. For any ailment she could recommend a supplement (Swanson’s will miss her). Well into her seventies she could still amaze young people with her flexibility and yoga mat routines. She was fastidiously clean, which only rubbed off on Ralph. She taught us to be strong, independent, and resilient and some might say mouthy. And we must all never forget the importance of moisturizing our faces daily, especially our necks! She never got that lucky lottery ticket that could only be purchased at Food Basics but we will keep trying for her.
The 44 years of Addison’s Disease took a toll on her body and she is finally pain free.
Thank you to all the kind staff at Grand Retirement Village. A special thanks to Darren for all the delicious gluten free meals he prepared for her.
Thank you to PSWs Karen, Angela and Linda who were like family to her, and to Tracey C at the CKHA physio department for all her kind help with Lisa’s rehab.
A special thank you to Chatham-Kent Hospice for helping her pass with dignity, respect and without any pain.
A celebration of Lisa’s life was held November 2, 2019.
We will love you & miss you every day of our lives Lieschen, Madre, Mumsie and Mom. Whenever we see the weather forecast on TV, we will think of you.
Donations to Chatham-Kent Hospice in memory of Lisa would be appreciated.
