Obituary of Bernard Myers
Peacefully, surrounded by family at Riverview Gardens Nursing Home, on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, Bernard “Bernie” Myers, age 88, of Chatham. Beloved husband of Dorinda (Laliberte) Myers for 59 years. Born in Prairie Siding in 1931, son of the late Adeline (Barnier) and William Myers .
Loving father of Lorie (Ken) Melnyk, Bill (Elizabeth) Myers and the late Cally Myers (2015). Dearest grandfather of Mandi Melnyk and Billy Melnyk, Joshua (Jaclyn), Andrew (Annie) and Alesha (Tyson) Myers. Great grandfather of Laekyn, Eden and George. Also loved and missed by Carly Erina.
Survived by sisters Ella Morrison and Feby VanPraet and brother Clarence Myers. Pre-deceased by sisters Bernice (Leonard) Crow, Vada (Tony) Kearns, Irene and Doris Myers and brothers Lawrence (Marie), Alcide (Jean) Wilfred (Annie) and brothers-in-law George Morrison and Remi VanPraet. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Bernie loved gardening, being outdoors and was a kind and gentle soul. He had a great sense of humour and loved spending time singing many different songs. He would do anything for his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to thank the many care givers at Riverview Gardens who got to know the real Bernie and treated him with love and respect.
Friends and relatives may visit at Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Friday, November 22, 2019 from 2- 4 PM and 7-9 PM, where Vigil Prayers will be offered at 3 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 10 AM in St. Ursula's Church.
Cremation will follow.
