Peacefully, surrounded by family, at his home in Chatham, on Sunday, December 22, 2019, Giovanni Ruggiero, age 93, of Chatham, beloved husband of Antonietta Ruggiero.
Born in Castelvetere sul Calore, Italy, on September 3, 1926, son of the late Vincenza and Catello Ruggiero.
He is survived by his daughter, Vincenza (Nick) Minardi of Amhurstburg and his son Catello (Joanne) Ruggiero of Chatham, his grandchildren, Luisa, Victoria (Sean Pollard), Amanda (Daniel Vandevele) and Jonathan, and 1 great grandchild Jessica.
Also survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law in Canada and Italy as well as nieces and nephews here and in Italy.
Predeceased by his sisters Concetta and Amerina.
Friends and relatives may visit at Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Monday, December 23, 2019 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm, where Vigil Prayers will be offered at 3 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at 10 am in St. Ursula's Church.
Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery.
Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Children’s Treatment Centre would be appreciated.
