Rosalie (Rose) passed away peacefully at Riverview Gardens, Chatham, Ontario on December 28, 2019 in her 96th year, surrounded by her family.
Beloved wife of Reginald (Reg) Pepper. Loving mother of Dale (Kim) and
Sharon Pepper-May (Doug). Dear grandmother of Emily Pepper, Olivia Pepper,
Ian Pepper, Abigail Pepper, Melissa Dys (May), Eric May, and Zachary May.
Dear great-grandmother of Khaleesie Pepper.
Daughter of the late Titus (Ted) Halarewich and Pauline Cherneski, Rose was born on the family farm in the Crescent Lake District of Saskatchewan on July 31, 1924. In addition to her parents, Rose is predeceased by her five brothers and six of her sisters: Mike, Ed, John, Raymond, Gordon, Helen, Mary, Anne, Regina, Francis, and Eileen. She is survived by four sisters: Angeline, Walterean, Dorothy, and Isobel.
In 1950, Rose moved to Ontario where she met the love of her life, Reg. They celebrated 61 years of marriage in June.
Prior to the start of her family, Rose was employed by Eaton’s in Chatham. Rose retired from the workplace to devote her time to her family. She enjoyed baking, sewing, and knitting. In addition, Rose enjoyed playing cards with her family and was the queen of the “no trump” bid.
Rose was a member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Parish in Chatham.
Friends and relatives may visit at Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Friday January 3, 2020 from 7 – 9 pm where Vigil Prayers will be offered at 7pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday January 4, 2020 at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph's Church. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery. Donations to the Charity of One’s Choice would be appreciated.
