Obituary of Bob Chantler

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.” (John 14: 1) Suddenly at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Chatham Campus, on Wednesday December 31, 2019. The Lord took Robert James Chantler (lovingly called Bob), the beloved husband of Diane (Heyink) Chantler, home at the age of 72. Bob loved working on “his” Camaro, renovating and making old things beautiful again through his many skills, and helping others in need. But there is nothing he loved more than God, being a Husband, Father and Papa. Born in London in 1947, son of Doreen (Woodburn) Chantler and the late William Chantler. Loving father of 6 children, and proud Papa of 7 beautiful grandchildren; Jason (Erin) and their children Paisley and Grace, Krystal Chantler and her children Chaela, Janeé and Addyson, Eric (Rachelle) and their children Addison and Sawyer, Robert (Alexa), Deanna (Johnathon) and Kyle Chantler. Dear brother of Linda Eaton, Brian Chantler, Nancy Renecker, and Cathy Ford. Also sadly missed by many brothers and sisters in-law and by many nieces and nephews. Friends and relatives may come together to visit at Eben-Ezer Canadian Reformed Church (483 McNaughton Ave. E., Chatham) from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Friday January 3, 2020. Funeral Service will be conducted by Pastor Arjen Vreugdenhil at Eben-Ezer Canadian Reformed Church on Saturday January 4, 2020 at 1:00 PM. Burial to follow in Maple Leaf Cemetery, which anyone who loved Bob is welcome to attend. Donations in Bob’s memory to the Eben-Ezer Canadian Reformed School or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. The Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home (156 William St. S.) is in charge of funeral arrangements.
