Peacefully surrounded by family at Chatham Riverview Gardens Nursing Home, on Friday, January 24, 2020, Joan Isobel Stokes, age 81, of Chatham, beloved wife of the late Grant Stokes (2011).
Born in Chatham in 1938, daughter of the late Frances (nee Lindsay) and John McNeil.
Loving mother of daughter Christine (Jay) Bruhlman, and 4 sons; David (Anna), Donald (Sherry), Tom (Marg) and Michael Stokes. Also, sadly missed by 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, dear sister Christina (John) Clements and sister-in-law Lynn McNeil.
Predeceased by 4 sisters; Betty Kemp, Frances Leatherdale, Catherine Holling, and Veronica Prevett and by 3 brothers; Don, twin brother John, and Tim McNeil.
Friends and relatives may visit at Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. where Vigil Prayers will be offered at 3 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church.
Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery.
Donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of choice, would be appreciated.
