at her residence in Chatham, on Sunday, March 29, 2020, Johanna “Annie” Maria Gielen, age 86, of Chatham, beloved wife of the late Peter Gielen (1998).
Born in Holland, daughter of the late Anne and Henry Wilken.
She will be sadly missed by her sons, Larry (Lorraine) Gielen of Blenheim, and David (Brenda) Gielen of Ridgetown, 6 grandchildren, Christopher (Amanda), Amanda (Chris) Lehmann, Mallory (Jason) Long, Nadine (Brendan) Lindsay, Jeremy (Mandy), and Alyssa (Matt) Watson, 10 great grandchildren and one on the way.
Survived by her siblings, John Wilken, Rita Burm, Conrad (Bonnie) Wilken all of Chatham, her brother and sisters-in-law Trudy Verbeek, Ann Jans, Gerta (Gordon) Baillargeon, Case (Mary Lynn) Gielen, and Marlene Gielen.
Predeceased by her sisters Helena “Lenie” Wilken, Elizabeth Vandehogen, brothers and sisters-in-law Margaret Wilken, Theo Burm, Martin Vandehogen, Martin Verbeek, Joe and Mary Jans and Bert Gielen.
Special thank you to her sister, neighbour and best friend Rita. A private family gathering will be held followed by a graveside service at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Chatham.
