Iris Dorothy Regnier (nee Chantler) born Dec 11, 1923, passed peacefully at CKHA at 1:08am Sunday May 10, 2020 at the age of 96. Born in Chatham, beloved wife of the late Raymond Joseph Regnier of Tilbury. Daughter of the late Stanley Edgar Chantler and Sarah Eleanor Coker (Nellie) from Ashford Kent England. Iris grew up in Chatham, then resided with her new husband in Tilbury after WWII, then relocated to Oakdale where they ran a farm for many years. Moved residence in 1966 to Dresden at which point she entered the healthcare profession caring for seniors for many years. She retired and resided in Chatham. She is survived by and will be dearly missed by her children Michael (Laura Boyle) of Paincourt, Dennis (Heidi Soudant) of Petrolia, and Lisa (Michael Grootenboer) of Toronto. Grandchildren Michael David Regnier (Robyn Brady), Sarah Regnier (Nathan Pittman), Suzanne Regnier (Joel McCallum) (Lindsay Reed, wife of the late Timothy Regnier), Teighan Grootenboer (Brittany Sprankling) along with great grandchildren, Daniel, Molly, Cooper, Annabel, Aria, Parker, Palmer, and Alice. She will be missed by countless nieces and nephews and was Godmother to Lori O’Phee of Chatham. She is predeceased by sister Gladys, (Norman Winship), brother Stanley Chantler, niece Cherie Reissner, and grandson Timothy Regnier. 13 Brothers and Sister’s in-law of the Regnier family. A private family burial will take place at St. Anthony’s cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Chatham Outreach for hunger or any food banks are appreciated.
