Obituary of Adrianus Johannes DeRooy

At Copper Terrace Long Term Care Facility, Chatham, on Monday November 15, 2020, Adrianus Johannes DeRooy, of Chatham at the age of 90 years.

Born in  Tilburg, The Netherlands in 1930.

Adrian worked on the farm in the Netherlands.  After arriving in Canada at the age of 22, he worked initially as a farm laborer.  He then worked up North in the forest industry where he hauled logs with a team of horses.  He ended up working for Navistar for 26 years and retired in 1990. 

Adrian was fond of billiards and poker. He loved betting on the ponies and he especially loved watching soccer on TV.

Adrian worked hard and played hard and will be missed.

He is survived by brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews in the Netherlands

As per his request, there will be no funeral home visitation or service.
