Obituary of Corrie Catharina Koppes

At Riverview Gardens Nursing Home, Chatham, on Tuesday December 1, 2020, Corrie Catharina Koppes, age 89, of Chatham, beloved wife of John Koppes. Born in Made, The Netherlands in 1931, daughter of the late Petronella (Verschuren) and Cornelius VanDongen. 

 

Mom spent her life happy on the farm always keeping busy outdoors. She loved to travel and went on many trips to see the sites and loved dancing and music, enjoying coffee and lunches with her many friends and family.  Many card games were played around their kitchen table.  

She volunteered many years at the hospital gift shop and was a long-time member of the CWL.

Loving mother of John (Teresa) Koppes and Nancy Koppes.

Cherished grandmother of Lisa (Pete), Tina, Julie (Matt), Kristin (Dustin), Rachel (Josh), David, and Stephen and also by 7 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Nellie (Cornelius), Cathy, Toni (Tony), Case (Simone).

Predeceased by a son Ron Koppes (2007), a sister Mary and by 2 brothers Frank and Pete.  

As per Mom’s request, there will be no public visitation or service.

A private graveside burial took place on Friday December 4, 2020.

There will be a celebration of life held at a later date.

The Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) was in charge of arrangements.  

Burial took place in St. Anthony's Cemetery.

Donations to the Charity of One’s Choice would be appreciated by the family.
