Obituary of Sister Irene Meloche

Meloche, Sister Irene (Rita Irene), formerly Sister Mary Incarnation, entered eternal life on Saturday, June 5, 2021 in Chatham, Ontario. She was born in 1927 in McGregor, Ontario, the daughter of the late Ernest and Blanche (Robideau) Meloche.
She entered the Ursuline Sisters of Chatham in 1945. During her religious life she served as teacher in Windsor, Dublin, Tecumseh and Stratford. Sister was an active member of the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association and later of the Retired Teachers’ Association. From 1985 to 1996, Sister was General Secretary for the Ursuline Community. Since 1996 Sister was the Community’s Curatrix.
She is survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and greatgrands. She is predeceased by siblings, Paul, Leo, Anthony, Joseph, Benjamin, Helen Mayer, Theresa Ducharme and Sr. Eva Meloche, osu.
Due to Covid-19 protocols visitation will take place at the Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S., Chatham by appointment only, Monday, June 7, 2021 from 7 - 9 pm.
