Obituary of Hilary Stanley O'Mara

Hilary Stanley O'Mara October 31, 1930 - July 6, 2021.

It is with great sadness that the family of Hilary O'Mara says goodbye to a loved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  

Predeceased by his wife Rita (n. Bechard), his parents John and Regina O'Mara, and his two brothers Gregory and Michael.

He is survived by his five children: Mark, Alan (Lynn), Patricia Conrad (Patrick), Anita Goodman (Stephen), and John (Leanne). He loved and was so proud of his eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. His was born in Dover Township.  

He and Rita moved to their farm in 1965, where he continued to farm for many years and lived until his passing. He will be remembered for his wisdom and generosity. He was happiest when working on jigsaw puzzles, challenging family at cribbage and gin rummy, and tending his bountiful vegetable and fruit garden.

Friends and relatives may visit at Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Thursday July 8, 2021 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday July 9, 2021 at 11 am in Blessed Sacrament Church.

Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Hilary's name to the charity of your choice.
