Obituary of Gloria Ann (Roy) Benoit
Passed away peacefully at Riverview Gardens, surrounded by family on Friday September 3, 2021. Born on October 4, 1943, daughter of the late Joseph A.C. and Philomene (Therrien) Roy (King).
Beloved wife of the late Joseph W. (2018). Dear Mom of Denise (Bill) Irvine, Joseph (Jenne) Benoit, and Jacqueline (Darren) Bruhlman. “Mim” to Gina Gillet, Dale (Heather) and Jessica. Loving Mémère to Simon, Sophie (Devin), Julie (Ricky), Andrea (Alex), Joël, Elizabeth (Jordan), Ben, Breanna, Blake and Francesca and Grand-Mémère to Lucie, Caleb and Patrick. Survived by sister Rita, sisters-in-law, Mary-Joyce, Clara, Angeline and Anna and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by parents-in-law Norman and Amanda Benoit as well as 11 siblings and 18 siblings-in-law. Gloria was dedicated to her family, teaching piano, St-Philippe church choir, and her professional employments for many years. She was member of Dames de Ste-Anne, St. Ursula’s C.W.L. and the Professional Women’s Association.
Gloria enjoyed camping, get togethers, bingo, movies and travelling. Special thank you to Riverview Gardens, especially Dr. Dixon and the 5 East staff for great care and compassion shown to Mom.
As per Gloria’s wishes cremation has taken place and a small private memorial mass and burial will be held later.
Public visitation is Friday September 10, 2021 from 7-9 pm and Saturday September 11th from 9-10 am
(You need not register for visitation, however masks are mandatory).
For those who wish, a donation may be made in Gloria’s honour to a charity of your choice.
