Obituary of Edward "Ed" Waddick
Peacefully at Chatham-Kent Hospice on Saturday November 6, 2021, Edward “Ed” Waddick, age 81, of Chatham passed.
Beloved husband of the late Suzanne Waddick (2011). He will be lovingly remembered by his fiancé Betsy Irwin. Born in Chatham in 1939, son of the late Laura (O’Neil) and Harold Waddick. Loving father of Cathy Clayton, Kelly (Leo) Doyle and step father of Lisa (George) Christian. Dear grandfather of Joshua (Carmen), and Jordan Clayton (Greg), Lee, Dylan, Davin and Dakota Doyle and Peter (Lauren) Christian. Dear great grandfather of Mallory, Wesley and Audrey Clayton, Breanna and Brooklyn Boundy. Ed will also be remembered by his siblings Angela Roy, Ursula (Stewart) Pumfrey, Maurice (Kay), Donald (Yvette), Robert (Agnes), Francis, Tony (Nadia) and Michael (Carmel) Waddick. Predeceased by sister Mary Pinsonneault, brother Joseph Waddick and brothers-in-law Jean Paul Pinsonneault and Roger Roy.
His lifelong love of farming, and living life to the fullest, continued until his final days. In his words, "Do not feel sorry for me, I lived a good life, an interesting life, with love and family."
Sincere thank you to Dr. Denys for the support, care and friendship he gave to Ed. Thank you to Kaitlyn for her love and assistance, making sure dad had the very best care in hospital, and to all the other amazing workers at the Chatham hospital and Chatham Hospice. The love, support and friendship of all those who loved Ed, gave him strength and peace.
