I coached a boys fastball team back in the 80's and we played many a game against the Kent Bridge team coached by Ernie. He was a tough competitor but always a gentleman in victory or defeat. Our condolences to his family.

My deepest condolences to the family, your dad was a wonderfully kind and gentle man.
He was a large part of my youth, making sure we got back & forth to school safely, coaching & the volunteer positions he held in Kent Bridge baseball so we had a program to play in and driving us around to games as my coach/neighbour. He was always so proud of the OASA title he coached us too back in our PeeWee days and well he should have been. I also have vivid memories of him hauling us to Detroit to watch the Habs play the Red Wings in the old Olympia arena, something I would have never got the chance to do if it was not for the kindness of your father.
He loved his baseball, I was always amazed at how he would allow us to foul balls off the front of his house while we played for hours in the front yard with the outfielders standing in the ditch across the road!! I was lucky enough to run into your dad a couple of years ago at an event I was done in Chatham for, we had a great chat that day to catch up dominated by updates on the kids & of course by baseball.
Ernie, for all that you did for us as kids, I can’t thank you enough, may you rest in peace.
To the family, may you find solace in the fond memories of your father & in the knowledge that he was such a kind soul.

Joan, Ted, Dan and Jim,
Condolences. Such a good man. A guardian to all the neighbourhood kids as our bus driver for years, an appreciated community volunteer with his contributions as a coach and executive member with Kent Bridge minor softball, a welcoming host to a farmyard ballgame, and such a caring and helpful neighbour. He truly helped fill the void when we lost our father at an early age. Mention of his name over the many decades that have since past still put a smile on my face. And, now, learning of his passing has brought tears to my eyes. One of the world's greatest Habs Fans will be dearly missed.
Take care,
Kevin

Such a fine and gentle man. Our children’s school bus driver for their entire school years. When notifying our sons and daughter of his passing, our son in Ottawa remarked “great guy, he always waited for us if we were not out in time.” That says it all about this respected, gentleman.
Our Sincere Sympathy,
Darcy and Mary Want and family.

To the family of Ernie Roesch, I offer my condolences on the loss of Ernie. Sat with Ernie at church quite a few times in his later years after your mother passed. We talked farming, baseball, soup to nuts you know! I'm sure he is in a good place now.
