Claude and I went through Public School together taking grades 4,5 and 6 in 2 years. That put me in High School at 12. Not good!
Claude and I shared many good times together. Both of relatively poor families we collected pop bottles on Saturdays for gas on Sat nite. 98¢ worth at the local Sunoco station was not unusual. Movie and 3 games of pool We double dated sometimes in his dads '49 Hudson. Put burlap bags soaked in tar in Claudes '54 Chevy rusted out trunk to keep the dust out of the cabin! I remember Shirley Beneteau at the farm. We slept overnight in her laneway in Windsor one nite and they had to walk to church!
He was a wonderful friend, dedicated to his cause. I remember Gerald, Elise, Elenore and Louis in Public School.
Claude could play any instrument by ear. He never got asked any questions by the French Teacher in High School He quit teaching and went to Chrysler in Windsor. I remember him telling me that the guy asked why he would give up teaching to go on the line. Simple answer. Money! I had tried to get in contact the last few years but my emails were never answered. I remember him sending pics of Chicken Houses he helped build in Mexico. Carole was a wonderful partner for him. Claude will be missed by all his Rodney and West Lorne Buddies.
Rest in Peace my Good Friend
Gord Baker.

Uncle Claude!
So sad to hear the news of his passing but glad he’s in a better place. I fondly remember that laugh, that energy and that positivity. His mannerisms, the cadence of speaking and boundless energy. Heaven just became a happier place.
Warm hugs and sincere condolences to Aunt Carol, Renee, Jeff and Debbie.
RIP Uncle Claude.
