Dear Bev I am so sorry about Bill. He was my first Principal when I got back into teaching. We had a special friendship and he couldn’t have been a better boss. After I would enjoy seeing him at St Joe’s. Always the big smile and nice conversation. Of course he provided you with his master skills in the garden. I am so sorry he has died. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers with love Di Teetzel

Our deepest condolences. We are sorry we missed visitation as we are away but my thoughts this past week are constantly going back to the visits the four couples had when I was very young. I remember Bill as always being the one laughing and joking which was comforting to a young boy. In later years running into Bev and Bill, they were so cheerful and joyful. This would then be a reminder to me of my Mother and how happy Mom always was during those reunions with her very best friends.
He will be missed

I send sincere condolences to Mr. Reaume’s family. He was my elementary school Principal and then my beloved neighbour. He was a kind man and one I’ll remember as fair and gentle. He was a wonderful Principal who appeared focused on the well being of his students both in the school and outside. As a neighbour I appreciated the dedication he poured into his flower garden…listening to CBC radio and classical music. He would often snip flowers and leave them in a bucket with water in the edge of his driveway for neighbours to enjoy - or he would pass me a beauitful bunch of dahlia’s over the back fence for me. I miss our conversations and longing for the “good old days”. He loved hearing the loud screams of my girls as they played through out the neighbourhood as he said “that’s the way it should be”…kids outside having fun and enjoying fresh air. He was a good man and will be missed. I’m very glad I had the honour of knowing him and having his impact on my young life and also on my girls. God bless. Amanda Hartley (Bondy) and Jolie and Lily.

To Anne and all the Reaume family. My experience with Bill was as "Sheriff" at Heritage Days where he really got into the role and enjoyed arresting all manner of folks for various offences real or imaginary. He had fun and watching him in action was a joy.. I will always remember him with a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye. I hope your warm memories will ease the pain of his loss. With deep sympathy.

To the Reaume family: So sad to hear that Bill passed. Losing a husband, father and grandfather is heartbreaking. Bill was a really nice man and had a life well lived. Annie introduced her Dad to Theatre Kent, where I met him! My Mom remembers him from childhood and I remember Dad golfing with him. May all of the happy memories comfort you. When I came to Chatham from Windsor to help officiate a football game 60 years ago, I was fortunate to be paired with Bill Reaume who had, over the years, a great influence on me with respect to my philosophical perspective of sport and games. He became a good friend. His sense of humour was infectious. My gratitude is everlasting. Leo Girard, Meaford ON

Bill was my very first principal, when I arrived in Chatham. I have always been so grateful that my rookie teaching experience was under his guidance. He was kind to me, understanding, and just a sweet man. Over the years, Bill would arrive on my birthday with a rose. And in later years, I was so happy to bump into him at St. Joe's. My condolences to Bev and the girls on their loss of this special man. I am honoured to have known him.

I've had the privilege of knowing Bill for many years and enjoyed working with him in the development of the Chatham-Kent Elementary School Curling Program over the past 25 years. Bill was particularly proud of receiving the 2001/2002 Labatt Achievement Award “In Recognition of Outstanding Service” presented by the Ontario Curling Association. This award is only one of six awards presented annually recognizing the outstanding effort of volunteers in Ontario. He was a true gentleman. Will miss you Bill. I hope he's at peace and is happy in his reunion with his parents, and with his brothers and sisters, especially my dad Gerry. Sending love and light to you all.
