Predeceased by his sisters and their spouses Mary Joanne (Edward) Urquhart, Lucille (George) Good, Lois (Joe) Goldhawk and Geraldine Reaume and his brothers Gerald, Martin, Flynn, Kevin and Brady and his spouse Patty.  He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Beverly (Ridgers), Beverly’s brother Jack and sister Helen Ridgers and his sisters-in-law Phyllis (Gerald), Marg (Martin), Betty (Flynn) and Muriel (Kevin) Reaume.

He has four daughters – Anne (Mark) Mooney, Mary, Karen (Al) Stewart and Jennifer (Greg Dunn) Williams. Bill was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Parish from choir boy to cantor, altar boy to reader.  As a young man he coached city league baseball and basketball and later refereed high school football and basketball games for many years.  He was a teacher and principal with the Kent County Catholic School Board. After he retired, he was an  adjudicator at school speech competitions and was a pivotal member of the team who designed and presented curling education programmes for elementary students.  He was an active golfer and curler and an award-winning member of the Chatham Horticultural Society.  He enjoyed performing with Theatre Kent and Wallaceburg Little Theatre.

Thank you to Dr. Morand, the nurses in the Stroke Unit of Public General Hospital, all the VON nurses and PSW support workers who helped keep him at home. Thank you to our wonderful neighbours and to Doug, David, Rob and Dwayne for all their pick-ups. Thank you to Brad for planting Bill’s dahlias and glads.
