We are devastated to announce the sudden passing of Michael Joseph Denomy on October 4, 2023 in London, Ontario. 

Michael will be greatly missed by his wife, Jo Ann Bondy, his son Joseph Wyatt and daughter-in-law, Teresa MacLean, and his grandchildren Jasper and Micah. Dear brother of Elizabeth Beckett (predeceased by Gordon), Kathleen (Mark) Brett, Denise (Michael) Zuk. Sadly missed by sisters-in-law Catharine Denomy, Cathy Denomy, Mary Lee Zimmer, and many nieces, nephews and friends near and far. He is predeceased by his brothers Robert and Jude Denomy.  

Michael Joseph Denomy was born on October 1, 1950 in Chatham, Ontario to Joseph Francis Denomy and Lilian (Milne) Denomy. He had a happy childhood of playing sports, getting into mischief, and working at the family store with his dad and brothers. Ever the artist, Michael went to Fanshawe College to study photography and woodworking (cabinet making), his lifelong passions. Michael worked as a professional photographer for Bell Canada for years. His time at Fanshawe created many longstanding friendships.

Michael met Jo Ann, his lifelong love on New Years’ Eve in 1981. They moved to London and in 1984, they bought the home they still live in. They welcomed beloved son, Joseph in 1985. Michael thrived on being a proud dad - baseball, camping, traveling, and many other activities with Joseph alongside Jo Ann. Michael became a grandad to Jasper and Micah in 2018 and 2020. The mutual adoration between Grandpa Mike and his grandboys was obvious to all. He enjoyed swimming, playing and reading to them. 

Michael was a kind soul who helped and mentored all those around him, helping with home repairs, woodwork, photography, and general life organization. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, cooking, triathlons, swimming, biking, and golfing. Loved by all who knew him, Michael was taken much too soon. We will always cherish our memories of him.

Friends and relatives may visit at Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM (open casket), 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM (closed casket) on Monday, October 9, 2023. A Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel of the Funeral Home at 1 pm.

Cremation will follow. 

Donations in Michael’s name to the Boys & Girls Club of London or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be much appreciated.
