Rachelle Keyserlingk (Devolder) posted a condolence
Sunday, May 12, 2024
As Molly's sister-in-law Rachelle, and Rachelle's husband Ted, we both share with and extend our profound sorrow to all of Molly's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as to all her other relatives and friends.
Molly died as she lived, and in both, she was a model for us all. In terms of her beloved game of golf, she scored by any measure a hole-in-one in both how she lived and how she died.
In life, Molly was realistic, ready and able to cope with life as it is rather than how it could have been. Her advice to family members was typically gentle and supportive rather than critical. She was a "people person", always at the center of activities, but thinking of others rather than herself. she always enjoyed good laughs at her own expense.
When Molly learned she was seriously and terminally ill, she calculated the way a golfer would. She weighed the odds, no longer just about using this or that club, or the best angle of attack to get to the next Green. Now it was about whether to opt for continued treatment or palliative care in a hospice. By choosing the former she could live longer but with more suffering and being more dependent on others.
Molly being Molly, two considerations especially would have, and did, settle the issue in favour of the hospice. She undoubtedly wanted to die as she had lived, not being a prolonged burden on others. And she hoped to continue to enjoy, right to the end and with full awareness, the company of family and friends. Molly was able to play cards almost to the end. Whether she won that last round or not, she most certainly played her ling and dying cards like a pro.
May Molly's memory be a blessing to us all.
We too, just a all the other Devolder clan members, are enormously grateful to the staff and management of the Chatham-Kent hospice for the loving care they gave Molly.
Rachelle and Ted Keyserlingk, Montreal

Mike, Bob, Rick, Janet and all the Devolder families , we send our condolences to all . I have so many memories of Molly and Andy actually my Godparents. I remember when I was younger I always got to go shopping and pick them out a little Christmas gift. I remember being in the room and the sounds of card games going on for hours and I do believe that I was the only 11 of 12 yr old that could play canasta (With Molly and my mom Helen Welch) but could never shuffle all those cards! I will have these memories for a life time and smile every time I think of them
Hugs to all of you and cherish your wonderful memories

Molly was obviously loved and respected by many. We are only granted so many years and Molly used her time well. I have only known her for a few years thru golf and we connected so easily. Molly had the ability to make people feel happy and have fun with her and yet remain just this loving lady. When I visited her she spoke of her family with love and laughter and pride. I will miss Molly in the Middle on Tuesday mornings .

Molly lived her life with such infectious and unwavering passion, it was as refreshing as a day on the green. Her courage and generosity never ceased to inspire, while her loving kindness made our hearts feel light. Always ready for golfing adventures, she kept us laughing even in trying times. Molly reminded us how beautiful, funny and deeply meaningful life can be. Let's all strive to keep her spirit alive with the same energy. She will be missed profoundly but remembered generously.
