Hello,
Just wanted to express my sincere sympathy to each of you in the loss of your Mom, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. I worked with her, Mrs Donais, at the Chatham Library. She was a lovely lady! She taught me how to sort T-cards (date due slips that went in every book when you checked it out), how to mend and repair books and how to put shiny book jackets on new books! She was the nicest and gentlest of teachers! I lucked out in having a summer job! She took the summers off and I did her job during the summer. It was a win for me and I think and I hope it was a win for her too. Seems to me I remember that she liked to golf!
After she retired I would see her once in a while at “Baker Joes” on Queen Street. I would occasionally join my parents for coffee and she would be having coffee with another lady. We would chat, catch-up and enjoy a short visit.
Best Regards,
Karen Horne
