Dear Christine was a brilliant, cheerful and love to laugh lady, I still remember the day we met. We kept all the piano books she gave to my son Dordor, which were very useful for him. Miss you, Christine.

To the Family,
I had your mother in my first year of high school at Tecumseh Secondary School in Chatham, Ontario. Just want to say what a great teacher she was and I enjoyed her music classes. Then after she married she also taught both of my sons when they entered High School at Chatham Kent Secondary School, and the musicals they had at that school. I will never forget her. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time.

Christine was a truly unique, brilliant, and remarkable person who made a tremendous impact on my childhood. She was so much more than a music teacher, she was a mentor. Christine wasn't afraid to speak her mind and her sense of humour was hilarious. I love and miss you, Christine!

Elizabeth, your Momma T, Christine was such an interesting, friendly, caring charismatic soul. She was so elated that you moved closer to her.
Your Mother/Daughter relationship was extremely special. The times you two have shared together are so rare and delightful. Traveling together, trips abroad, boat cruises, and the most spectacular road trips ever. These times gave her so much to talk about and kept her so young in spirit. She had a lovely gift that when you talked with her, she made you feel so important. She was always so engaged and would ask how my dog and cats were doing. She was genuinely interested in others. I received a card from her on the day I found out she had passed away. I do believe she immediately encountered Heaven and that you now have another Guardian Angel. Her enthusiasm for life and love of travel lives on in you, her precious daughter.
It was truly a privilege to know Queen Christine, her memory will always make me smile.
My deepest sympathy to my dear friend Elizabeth, Tobin and Chris.

Christine was a beautiful soul and wonderful human being, with a kind and generous personality, genuine and strong, along with a great sense of humor. Her respect for, and love of, others was admirable. Her talents, work and sense of adventure were inspiring.
I met Christine many years ago, soon after I met her beautiful daughter Elizabeth. Instantly, I could see that Christine was delightful, her energy and enthusiasm were contagious, and her caring of others was soulful.
I was very fortunate to see Christine almost every time she was in Ottawa. Her visits, letter-writing and phone calls were always something to really look forward to, because of who she was. And, when we visited, her spontaneity was the icing on the cake. To Elizabeth, Heather and I, she was ‘Queen Christine’.
Christine was loved by many, including me. I was so very blessed to have her in my life.
My heartfelt condolences to Christine’s family, especially my dear friend Elizabeth. May your memories bring you peace and comfort and eventually smiles. She will always have a place in our hearts.

Elizabeth and Christopher,
It is with great sadness that I send you my sympathies. It's been an honor and a privilege to have been your Mom 's hair stylist for 43 years and her friend for even longer. I will certainly miss our talks either in person or by telephone. She really enjoyed sharing stories about her family. She was so proud of both of you. She was a dynamic lady....
Rest in peace, Christine
Until we meet again, Yvonne

I only met Christine once, at Elizabeth and Tobin's wedding in Chicago, but it was immediately clear that Elizabeth inherited her joie de vivre and adventurous spirit from her Mom. Christine was awesome and I loved talking with her that day - I became an instant fangirl! I also enjoyed the stories Elizabeth shared about her amazing Mom over the years and have come to feel like I knew her more than I really did. Heartfelt sympathies to Elizabeth, Tobin, and Christopher for the loss of a truly terrific lady. We are thinking of you and sending long distance hugs at this difficult time.
Love,
Barbara and Tom

I met Christine at my work at Thames Communications ( Bell Dealer ) two years ago. Our first conversation was about her age and I said there is no way! you are that old haha. She was always doing something and would tell me about her garden or where her next little trip was. Of course this was after helping her with her phone :) haha.
She reminded me of my grandmother so I enjoyed when Christine came in. I'm so glad I got to know her a bit over the last few years. I want to extend my condolences to the family and I'm sorry to hear of the loss. She is a gem! There was some tears here in the office when the news broke.

There are no words to describe the immeasurable presence Mrs. T holds in our hearts. She started out as our music teacher but evolved much beyond that over the 18 years we knew her to become an unofficial third grandmother, one of our biggest cheerleaders when visiting home. From countless music practices to watching “Murder, She Wrote” and “Columbo” episodes together, there was never a dull moment with Mrs. T.
We will miss her thoughtfulness, patience, humour and sharp wit, not to mention her incredible musical talent - we feel blessed and forever grateful to have known her, every song we sing/play will always be in her memory.

I met Christine back in 2006 and her presence was a blessing in my life ever since. No words would justify the impact she had on our family particularly the kids, who gained immensely from being taught by such a talented teacher. What stood out most was her unwavering dedication to teach music and she surely seemed to emanate an unending energy to achieve the desired result.
Mrs T as our daughters fondly called her will be missed dearly but we are all so glad she had a great life.
Elizabeth and Chris - our heartfelt condolences. May the beautiful memories of her laughter and love provide you with comfort and strength.

I knew Christine for the 20 years that I lived in Chatham as a colleague and friend. She contributed a great deal to our local ORMTA organization and always supported her colleagues in their endeavours. I had the pleasure of teaching Elizabeth for several years and have followed her career throughout the years. Christine was an excellent mother and loved her children deeply. She was also a devoted and caring daughter to her parents, whom she nursed during their last years, allowing them to stay in their own home. I remember her beautiful tribute to another special colleague, Janet Wake, at the memorial concert ORMTA held for Janet. Elizabeth, please accept my deepest sympathies. We never have our mothers for long enough.

I'm so sorry to hear of Mrs. Thompson's passing. She was my theory teacher for many years and after we would still have visits or chats on the phone... she was always so supportive and continues to hold such a dear place in my heart. She was an amazing and special lady that had a profound impact on so many of her students that she cared so deeply about. I wouldn't be where I am today without her guidance. Liz, although I only met your mother a few times over the years, she never forgot coming to my house for a Weekender clothes demonstration about 20 years ago. Through your stories and travel pictures, I was able to truly see how remarkable she was. I still can’t believe that at 93 the both of you went on a mother-daughter road trip to Florida. Cherish all those great memories. Stay strong my friend.
Our sincere condolences to you and Tobin.

There are many amazing things I can say about Christine. The most clearly evident was how much she loved her daughter Elizabeth. They had an amazing mother daughter relationship any parent would be proud of and want. Christine was a very happy person. Every time Elizabeth and I were together calling Christine she would pick up the phone in her happy sing song voice always glad to hear from you. She had a passion for travel and made sure she got around. One of my favorite times with Christine was when we took her on a mother daughter cruise. Elizabeth and I took both our mothers. It was such a fun week you could just see Christine’s passion for life. Such a truly amazing woman I will really miss hearing her when she answers the phone. I love you Christine.
