I met Wes many years ago when visiting my sister in Chatham.
I was having a problem with my 1966 Chev Corvette.
I don’t remember how I heard about him but drove to his home on Churchill St. He was working on a Corvette in his garage. He immediately stopped what he was doing and took the time to fix the problem with my car. We kept in touch over the years whenever we came to Chatham and when they came to Ottawa when our car club hosted two Corvette Club Conventions. We continued to visit Wes and Charlene at their home on Eberts Line and at their apartment on Grand Ave W.
After Wes became a resident at Riverview Gardens, we would stop in for a visit as often as we could, but probably not as often as we should have.
Wes and Charlene became treasured friends and he will be missed.
Our sympathy goes out to Charlene and their family.

Very sorry to hear the passing of Wes. My condolences to the entire Hooker family.
He was a great guy. If it was a Chevy he knew it inside and out and a master of
bodywork and paint. R.I.P. Wes.

I KNOW HE IS FREE FROM PAIN NOW AND WAS WELCOMED HOME BY HIS PARENTS. MAY THE MANY FOND MEMORIES GIVE YOU STRENGTH AS YOU CARRY ON.

My sincere condolences.
Wes warmed my heart the first time I met him. After Dad went into RVG for a short stay I knew how great of a man Wes was. Dad spoke of Wes often and ensured to I always told Wes to say hi from him. He will truly be missed. I will keep you and your family in my prayers

Charlene and Family…I am so very sorry about Wes’s passing. I remember the Hookers from my days on Alexandra Ave. and also at the golf course. The family’s contribution to Chatham’s business and recreation was amazing. It is bittersweet though, but Wes is no longer in pain and is finally resting peacefully. Charlene, your presence every day, was the bright spot in Wes’s day. It was such a pleasure to see you all through COVID and now on my volunteering shifts. Take care of yourselves and each other.
