Rupp, Rene and families,
My very first PE Dept. Head-Eddie spaghetti!! How I had fun those years working with Coach Carriveau and teaching in the Cougardome with him. Saw Eddie at church many many times and chatted about “the olden days”. His humour was such a special part of who he was and continued to be. May he be throwing a few footballs in the mighty field above.

Good friend, colleague, coaching rivals on the friendliest basis. Our relationship went back to the early 50s in Riverside (before it was absorbed by Windsor). I first knew Ed as a solid baseball and hockey player respected by all. He was always helpful and fun to be with. Loved trying sweetcorn from the edges of unattended local fields or spearing frogs for froglegs in local ponds. He knew the best spots.Great creative chef and sausage maker. A true Essex-Kent gent. He is already missed. Sent from Mexico-Leo

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Carriveau. My deepest condolences to your family. I had the great pleasure of getting to know Ed in the last years of his life, as he filled my Dad's life with fun and excitement, when he became an esteemed member of Ed's Banana Bread Golf League. I loved to hear about his latest adventures, which would always leave me in stitches... and reminded me to live life to the fullest, with some fun! He was also an excellent role model for me, as a teacher, like so many others. Thank you for being such a good friend to our family. Ed will be SO missed, but his legacy will live on in so many, whose lives he touched and changed forever.

My first memory of Coach Carriveau was in Grade 9, likely the first day of the new school year at a meeting for the junior football team in the old gym. I was shuffling in with all the other potential players. Of course we had to take off our shoes. Coach singled me out for dragging my feet and barked only the way Coach could, to pick up my feet. It was love at first sight! I will miss you Coach. You helped make high school a wonderful experience.

Our most sincere condolences to Renee, Rupp and families. Hundreds of student-athletes, mainly football players that Eddie coached, benefited greatly from his mentorship and lessons taught through sport. He was passionate about teaching and coaching. He showed great determination while preparing his teams for competition, with high expectations for behavior and sportsmanship. I was always amazed that he could manage this so easily; all the while demonstrating humility and a great sense of humour. He was a wonderful teacher, coach, colleague and friend. Thanks Eddie for everything you did for me. You will be missed.

Our family is saddened to hear of the passing of a great man. Moose taught us many lessons on the football field that we learned later in life were not just meant for the gridiron. As I walked to CCI he used to pick me up on Grand Avenue in the mornings in his yellow "Corvette". I've had the chance over the last few years to chat with him at the baseball diamond while coaching. He would sit in the stands and watch and then give me heck for my players not running to their positions "like in the old days". I will miss those chats at the ballpark!
