Obituary of Don Houweling

Peacefully surrounded by family at the Chatham-Kent Hospice, on Monday May 20, 2019, Donald Houweling, age 56, of Chatham-Kent, beloved husband of Madeline (Johnston) Houweling. Born in Brockville in 1963, son of Johanna (Onland) Houweling and the late Peter Houweling.  

Don worked as a Chef at Smitty’s Restaurant.

Cherished by his children Amanda and Jamiee Houweling. Loving papa of Makai and Nolan. Dear brother of Carol (Terry) Pepper, Lisa (Dave) Robert, Rick (Pam), Rob (Sandy), Chris (Melissa), Peter (Angele) and Anthony and Ken Houweling. Also sadly missed by his brothers and sisters-in-law; Bill (Debbie) Johnston, Mike Johnston, Linda Haskell, John Johnston, Patty Montgomery, Mary Jane (Rhonda) Johnston, Rob (Natalie) Johnston and his mother-in-law Wanda Johnston.

As were Don’s request, there will be no formal funeral home visitation.

Cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Aristos (307 Grand Ave. W., Chatham) on Saturday June 1, 2019 from 2-5 pm.
